On June 19, 2019, the research group of the Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Guizhou Medical University started cooperation with Weiyun on the project of typing 41Y (male) STR locus of Guizhou ethnic minority, and providing related technical training. The project aims to explore the genetic diversity of ethnic minorities in Guizhou and provide a scientific basis for future research on the genetic characteristics of ethnic groups.

After the signing of the technical cooperation agreement between the two sides, themembers of Professor He Yan's research group in the Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Guizhou Medical University and the technicians of Weiyunconductedtechnical exchangeand discussion.The project aims to trace the paternal relationship between ethnic minorities and different nationalities in Guizhou by extracting human genomic DNA fragments from saliva and analyzing their DNA sequences.

The Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Guizhou Medical University was approved as the key laboratory of medical molecular biology in Guizhou Province in 2000, and has won more than 150 national and provincial scientific research achievements. The laboratory has extensively carried out domestic and international scientific research cooperation, and has made remarkable achievements in the research of endemic diseases and genetic diversity of ethnic minorities. After nearly 20 years of continuous efforts, the laboratory has been developed into the frontier in Guizhou Province for scientific research, personnel training, and academic exchange.

The technical cooperation agreement signed by the research group of the Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Guizhou Medical University and Weiyunis a follow-up to the cooperation between the two partiesin 2017,showing the intention of long-term cooperation between the two sides. This is undoubtedly a recognition of the professionalism of Weiyun's forensic physical evidence technology. Weiyun will adhere to the concept of "science and technology serve public security" and contribute its own strength in future cooperation.
