On October 30, 2019, Dr. Wang Yufeng, executive director ofWeiyunResearch Institute, and his delegation came to the Forensic Medicine College of Guizhou Medical University, and conducted in-depth academic exchange in hair drug detection technology with the experts there. During the visit, the two sides conducted in-depth discussion on the application of hair detection technology to the applicable population, detection procedures, specificity of detection results, and precautions.

Once the drug is taken, it will leave traces in the urine, blood, saliva and other biological samples accordingly, which will become the evidence to identify illegal drug use.Hair drug detection technology is a scientific and technological innovation to adapt to the new situation of the development of drug control work, which has a positive significance for anti-drug. The popularization of hair drug detection technology has eliminated the limitation of short detectable period of drugs in saliva, blood, urine and other detection samples, greatly improved the efficiency and convenience of drug detection, and can maximize the screening of hidden drug users. Hair drug detection technology can not only determine the types of drugs and trace the drug use behavior in different periods, but also improve the efficiency of anti-drug work by helping community workers to monitor the effect medicine treatment, improving the current sampling supervision mode, and extending the detectable period.

During the exchange, Dr. Wang also used Weiyun's self-developed SuperTest 3000 Universal Biological Sample Drug Analyzer to conduct demonstration experiments.

SuperTest 3000 features high detection accuracy, strong stability and fast detection speed, and can conduct fast quantitative and qualitative tests on common drugs in various biological samples, including hair, blood, dry blood spot, urine, sweat, saliva, etc. The analyzer is specially sensitive to methamphetamine, morphine and ketamine, all of which are able to be detected at one time.

Academic exchanges produce sparks of wisdom. This is not the first academic exchange between Weiyun and domestic universities. It is hoped that in the later stage, both sides can have further in-depth exchanges and contribute their own strength to the society.
